Google Self Driving Automated Car
Google claims that they have developed technology for cars that can drive themselves.
Google's automated cars use video cameras, radar sensors and a laser range finder to “see” other traffic, as well as detailed maps (which we collect using manually driven vehicles) to navigate the road ahead. This is all made possible by Google’s data centers, which can process the enormous amounts of information gathered by our cars when mapping their terrain.

i can see this remaining a concept for along time to come, wouldn't be worth it here in Ireland as the country and roads are just too small, just another way for google to steal your privacy

Yeah, just what I want. Some software program in control of the car I'm riding in. Not!!!
There may be a bit of snow on the roof, but there is still a fire blazing in the hearth!

Not a chance. My state has no fault auto insurance, so I'd still be on the hook. But I suppose I could follow in the footsteps of a fair number of my fellow countrymen and sue Google.

When I get old enough I want to have fun driving my own car.
In loving memory of my Grandpa John and Great Uncle Barry.
