    Malaysia to ban filesharing sites

In what appears to be a memo sent to ISPs by the regulator of Internet industries in Malaysia, all service providers have been ordered to completely block various file-sharing sites including The Pirate Bay, MegaVideo and other hosting services. The move follows an April statement by the country’s Prime Minister in which he promised his administration would never censor the Internet.

    Sites affected :
    - hxxp://www.warez-bb.org
    - hxxp://thepiratebay.org
    - hxxp://www.movie2k.to
    - hxxp://www.megavideo.com
    - hxxp://www.putlocker.com
    - hxxp://www.depositfiles.com
    - hxxp://www.duckload.com
    - hxxp://www.fileserve.com
    - hxxp://www.filetube.com
    - hxxp://www.megaupload.com

I have 1 word for this. It's called "retarded". File-sharing services may have the non-ending debatable "illegal content" issue surrounding it but have they given the thought for those who use them for legitimate purposes???

Anyway, say "gua caya sama lu" to the 'regulator of Internet industries in Malaysia' on my behalf.. I am hoping that Singapore don't follow the footsteps...

Here we go again. Anonymous to attack Cyber Security of Malaysia because Cyber Security call them newbies and say their attack didn't do much damage.

    Time : 31/6/2011

Wonder what is going to happen this time? Is the Malaysia goverment going to pull the cables of their servers like what happen during the last attack or are they going all out against Anonymous.

On to the latest news, Piratebay and Filestube came up with 2 new sites for Malaysians.

    hxxp://malaysiabay.org/
    hxxp://filestube.me/

Some lecturer at a local university said the move was done to "protect" the citizen of Malaysia from being attack by virus.

Wait. There is no 31st June.

So LunarWolf, do you indeed feel protected now?

This time they say attack will be on 4th of July (america's independence day) and they are going to bring down the entire country infrastructure. I wonder how are they going to do that considering that the gov will pull their servers offline again?

And here all I was planning to do was attend a 4th of July parade and then have steaks on the grill.
