    Should Raymond.cc have reputation system.....

I want to suggest one thing here.
Many Members post their problems and queries to the forum and members do hard work to solve out their problem.
I think the members who help other should have some signs of their helping efforts.
If Mr Raymond wishes to activate reputation system where other members will rep to the good and helpful posts...
Its my personal opinion you can give your suggestion here

See [url=http://forum.raymond.cc/general-forum/29999-is-there-any-way-to-protect-your-folder-with-password-in-windows-7-a.html]HERE in this post A Guy had helped me but i cant give any support to him and can only like his post.

A reputation system is a complex thing, and also can be subject to abuse. Do you rep for a good joke, or a one line comment? How much weight does your rep carry? I belong to a forum that has a rep system, and the admins are really on top of it, but it is hard to maintain correctly. I like it there, but I'm not sure it's necessary here. A like is nice, I personally don't do much liking, no offense to anyone. A thanks is best, and all I really need I'd leave it to the others to say, going to vote I don't know, based on my opinion. I guess the point system differs from the reputation system.
I think vBulletin already has this feature built-in but I disabled it.
Read a bit on the manual and it says https://www.vbulletin.com/docs/html/main/reputation_intro

User reputation can be a divisive element of your forum so great care should be taken before a decision is made to enable it.

The way i see it if i can help i will and don't need points or reputation, i have had some very nice words and that is well worth any effort involved, as i have had help here when needed the only points i want to see going up is my football team and their reputation intact.

Good to see you exploring different avenues Stranger to be honest i like it the way it is, but that's just my two cents.

I personally don't see the need for a reputation system. If I can help someone out, that by itself gives me a feeling of satisfaction and usually the poster says thank you if they found your advice helpful, so thats good enough for me.

There's the star, for one thing. As a person who likes helping others for nothing in return, I don't think I need any reputation to show to the world. Helping others is enough for me. Another thing is for the people who have low reputation. It may happen that that person gets very little chance to come here and help others, because of overburden of studies or work or whatever. It's natural human psychology to treat the person with low reputation with low respect in spite of that not being that person's fault. So my answer should be no. The system's good the way it is.

Fully agreed with you. Ray already make this forum well formed. Like we have good Mod (Leo, jay, Murphy, Albo) , Star members, Experienced members and also Good Admin (Ray and Paul). And finally We don't expect anything like reputation/points to help other people.

Do not see how the rep system would. If you can you help someone and then get thanked. We are just a group of like minded people looking to help each other out. Honestly that is good enough for me.

BUT, I can see a new "Likes" under each member's avatars which somewhat hints to the reputation.
