Quote Who is responsible for this?

My daddy's office laptop's CD/DVD-RW drive was not working...the company's IT department said it was a drive failure, that the drive was not working, etc. and told him they would replace it with a new one on Monday. I scanned and found around 480 malware samples (he is running Quick Heal for two years, by the way, which quarantined some of my removal tools instead of some real malware). I have fixed the infection and the drive is working smooth. Now tell me who is responsible, Quick Heal or the IT department?

P.S. Since the laptop belongs to his company, I cannot decide which security software is to be run.

Both. Quick Heal did not do a good job in detecting virus and the tech department did not check thoroughly.
I think they are hurrying to get back home for weekends.

By the looks of this thread I'd consider running something else on his computer.Quick Heal isn't rated that well.

Sounds to me like the IT Department needs to get its act together.

I believe Quick Heal has bribed the IT department well enough. And sadly, my dad does not have any authority over the security software or rather any thing run in the laptop. I agree with A Guy. But I can't do anything except disinfect once a week (even that is illegal, according to company policy, that the user cannot run any third party application in the company's computer without its consent).
