    Bearcat R.I.P.

There is just one thing in life that is a certainty but when it comes close it can still be hard.
When it comes close to the same family twice in a relatively short space of time it can be even harder, first John and now Barry.

This forum has something that is not often found on such sites, it has a community, more than that, it has a heart and a soul.
When we lose someone in this way we feel the loss, we feel it now for Barry just as many of us still feel it for John.
Especially those of us who have been around as long, if not longer, than those who have gone.
Perhaps it reminds us of our own mortality.

Just recently we were joined on the forum by Annie, John's widow.
Although I never replied to her thread like many others I was pleased to see her here.
    Now this.

Annie, Big Guy, I would like to think that I speak for all the members of the forum when I say how sorry we are to learn of your loss, to offer our heartfelt condolences and our very best wishes to you and the rest of your family.

Both Barry and John will long be remembered.

    Death is Nothing at All

    Death is nothing at all.
I have only slipped away to the next room.
I am I and you are you.
Whatever we were to each other,
    That, we still are.

Call me by my old familiar name.
Speak to me in the easy way
    which you always used.
Put no difference into your tone.
Wear no forced air of solemnity or sorrow.

    Laugh as we always laughed
at the little jokes we enjoyed together.
Play, smile, think of me. Pray for me.
Let my name be ever the household word
    that it always was.
Let it be spoken without effect.
Without the trace of a shadow on it.

Life means all that it ever meant.
It is the same that it ever was.
    There is absolute unbroken continuity.
Why should I be out of mind
because I am out of sight?

I am but waiting for you.
    For an interval.
    Somewhere. Very near.
    Just around the corner.

    All is well.

Just signed in back here after a long time to share my sincere condolences on Barry's (Bearcat) loss. This is truly saddening and is a second blow to the community here after John Shaw's death a few months ago.

Rest in Peace, Barry (and John Shaw). Don't know about others but I will certainly miss you people.
