A note of thanks!
I want to say thank you Raymond for your nice tribute to my Uncle Barry on the Blog today. It was very much appreciated! And I want to thank all of you members of the Forum for your words of sympathy, both in your posts, and in your PM's. They are also greatly appreciated!
Sincerely yours,
Jay Shaw
In loving memory of my Grandpa John and Great Uncle Barry.

It was a privilege to have spent time on the forum with Barry we had some good laughs, I will miss him Jay and so will all the other members on the forum he was a true friend.
Why do fat, ugly, hairy women take advantage of innocent, drunk men?

I had posted in Seven Forums about it, and they send their condolences as well.

I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

Just stay strong my friend. Although our dear friend/family member was gone now, his lost is simply irreplaceable, but you still have us. We're one big extended family here.
Shalom!

Jay,
Including yourself there are four members of your family who have contributed to this forum, in many ways it is the rest of us who should be thanking you.
When I first read this thread it occurred to me that you might want to consider changing your signature.
From the manner in which you have conducted yourself, both now and after the loss of John, it seems to me that in many respects you are no longer a kid.
To answer the question in your signature: "what do I know?" A great deal, and while some of the learning has been forced upon you by circumstances you will remember what you have learned for the rest of your life. It is in a way a legacy left to all of us by those we have known who have gone on.
Many things have caught my attention in what has been written about Barry, and John, in the last couple of days but if there is one thing that stands out for me it is the quote that ceyfer used in his reply to the thread that I started:
“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”
Carl W. Buechner
Amen.

Life Is A Journey
Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey:
From childhood to maturity
and youth to age;
From innocence to awareness
and ignorance to knowing;
From foolishness to desecration
and then perhaps to wisdom.
From weakness to strength or
from strength to weakness
and often back again;
From health to sickness
and we pray to health again.
From offense to forgiveness
from loneliness to love
from joy to gratitude
from pain to compassion
from grief to understanding
from fear to faith.
From defeat to defeat to defeat
until looking backwards or ahead
We see that victory lies not
at some high point along the way
but in having made the journey
step by step
a sacred pilgrimage.
Birth is a beginning
and death a destination
And life is a journey;
A sacred journey to life everlasting
My condolences BigGuy.
