I recently stumbled upon a new Email ID service- www.in.com . It is a new and free email service started by Network 18 (The company who runs news channels like CNN-IBN and CNBC in India and has over 300 business-multimedia news related sites).
I tell you that the service is pretty impressive and offers
    World's smallest domain id
    10 GB of Inbox space.
Find the best of News, Music, Videos and Games, from more than 16,000 websites.Enjoy the web's shortest mail address @in.com.

The site is pretty clean, impressive and does not contain those pesky and irritating ads. I think it is an Ad-free service.I want you to try it atleast if you live in India.I have already signed-up

    utk@rsh.com
and etc... I used to own ymond.com, it's geeky but then a lot of people find it hard to understand why is my email so short and weird.

    You cannot register a ..com
It has to be a letter or number then followed by a .com
