CONGTARS.> The experiments first event was successul. But its still a lot more to go. Today only a beam of protons was sent. but there was no collision. It will continue till the next year when the full power of the machine wd be used. In the menatime for the last 7 days since I have posted this topic, I have been reading many things bout this and I find it too interesting and I wd like to share these things with you.

This is a experiment where proton partiles from lead ions are accelerated in a uniform magnetic field under uniform electric field both perpendiculr to each other so that the particle accelerates. when it accelerates till the speed of light (some what like 299792.458 km/s) they will make it to collide headon. this collision will bring out particles firing out of these protons. Thats what the experiment is to do. In other words they are trying to re-enact the BIG BANG. The particles will give us answers to our questions. How the universre was formed, among the particles which we know as the smallest, what are the other particles? why matter has mass/weight? wht is dark matter and anti matter? and the most important question.. What is the HIGGS BOSON. And does it really exist.,

    1. Black holes are formed when any matter collapses under its own weight and is compressed until it reaches its Schwarzchild Radius. Schwarzchild Radius (rs = 2GM/C^2). so when any matter is compressed until this radius it becomes a black hole. It is not necessary for it to be a star or any another heavenly body. even if i compress 'you' , to ur Schwarzchild Radius, you will become a black hole.

    2. The scientists ar CERN have already told that there may be black holes produced, But they will decay in millionth of a trillionth of trillionth of a second according to the hawking theory. but it is also feared that this this theory might be wrong, even though Stephen Hawking himself has already told that there is no danger to earth. But he has bet a mere 100 $ on the sucess of the experiment to find the higss boson.

    3. It is also feared that un known particles called strangelets may be produced which may turn earth into a strange lump of unknown matter. but this is impossible according to the CERN scintists.

Better all what ever may happen hope that it is good and pray to god that it remains good. and nothing bad happens to the earth. chk out this link, it shows a count down of the end of the earth due to LHC. when I cheked it this morning b4 the experiment i showed only some hours left, and now it shows 40 days too funny.

    Here is more to read:
    http://www.livescience.com/technology/080910-lhc-test.html

The true test of it will be when another beam of proton is released in counterclockwise direction - both proton beams traveling opposite will collide (nearly 2 days from now) and When the Collider will be running on its full power (nearly 1 year from now). Maximum destruction - The tunnel of collider will collapse (but there are 4.6% chances for it to happen). Do not worry the energy level is not so much high that can produce Black holes which can stay even 1 second.

The Real test of Science - Scientists are planning to create Super Hadron collider which will have more higher energy level and more powerful magnets will be used then (nearly 10 years from now). Hopefully i will also get the chance to be there at with the leading Scientists of the world at CERN at that time during the experiment.

good., it is also said that the biggest problem of this LHC could be that the beams go mad and destroy the whole tunnel and the rock around the tunnel collapses. but there wd not be any threat to the earth.
    * edit : not mad , the beams go out of control.
I guess, I am too excited.

    I'm not dead yet.. :P

BUT scientists say that if we dont die today.. we will die on the 21st of December 2012..

On that day.. there should be a major event which could kill us all..

No scientist will ever be able to predict what date the world will end, and it will not be the black hole that will end the world it will be a series of natural disasters.

The scientist also predicted 31 december 1999 to be the end of the world or december 2004, and they thought they were right when the tsunami happened but no.

I find Science n Tech stuff like the LHC very interesting.
Here's what the LHC in detail - it's very interesting to know it.
