No offense, but you don't know what open source means, do you?
These aren't open source. They are freeware.
- OpenDNS
- Comodo Firewall
- Paint.NET
- AVG Antivirus
- Ad-Aware Anti-Spyware
- Kerio Personal Firewall
- Sygate Personal Firewall
- ZoneAlarm Personal Firewall
- Free Conference
The rest of them are.
Now, what's the difference? Well, open source means that the source code is open for anyone to modify. That means I could crack open my favourite programming tool and add or remove features as I go along. However, this doesn't mean it's always free in cost. A good example of this is Red Hat Linux. You need to PAY for it, but the source code is free for anyone to use as they wish.
But freeware means it's free in cost. You can not legally modify the code unless the person provides you with it and they are under no contract to do such a thing, unlike open source. My list has the examples I'd provide.
What you're offering here should be called free software, because all meet one of the two conditions of the definition. There is free as in freedoms, which is open source. Then there is free as in cost, which is freeware.
I hope this makes sense for anyone in the future.

It was written in other free software in that website....and I just copy and paste it
and never said they are open source guru......the title open source simply refer to that website and what was written here was simply in their lists.

Okay, let's get this straight. I take offense to anyone who needs to size up their words and bold them to get a point across. Picking apart is fine, but ... yeah. Because to me that sounds like shouting and you don't want to get into a shouting war. Hence why I removed your original formatting.
And if you just copy/paste, like I pointed out to ha14, you run into trouble when someone calls you out on it. His issue was the ever "wonderful" EXT4 formatting. I'm just letting you know so you know for next time. The title implied that you think they are all open source and just because people write a list doesn't mean it's always right.
If I wanted to, I could make a list of "open source software" and say things like
- Microsoft Office
- Microsoft XP
- Skype
- IE
- Firefox
Would you know they aren't? A hint: Only one of them is.
I thought I'd let you know for future knowledge. I'm sorry I came across as insulting if I did but I thought I'd point this out.

Firefox is a great example of open source, but I would not call it the poster child. Too many other programs would be placed above it in my list:
Linux, MySQL, Apache, to name a few.
EDIT: I would also add PHP, but the open source community is beginning to not implement it into new code due to controversy over PHP v5 changes. That said, it is coded (freely) into over 20 million web pages, on over a million hosts.

No way firefox is a poster child. It is very popular but Apache is like a behind the scenes thing that is more popular than ever. We come across it all the time yet we do not know what it is, or to not know even this server is running it!
That being said same with Linux (except for Red Hat and maybe some more) we come across it in our lives all the time, chances are your office block might be using it or your school because (most distributions) are free and open source, that often run faster and safer that Microsoft or Apple servers (believe it or not Apple does play in the server market but only a small number of servers use it) and of course, it's free!
MySQL is also a good example. It's easy as heck to install from terminal (in Linux) and is free. Most sites have it or require it. Such as raymond.cc forum, it requires a MySQL database for the forum and the blog so it can store information in simple tables and rows and columns. MySQL is fast and effective.
PHP is good too. Most sites need it desperately, anotehr example again is Raymond.cc, it needs it to perform the PHP tasks in the blog and forum as they both use php in them.
Firefox as i said isn't used much but compared to them it is nothing but it is a great browser of course, although people think it is most popular it is just the tip of the ice burg.
