I haven't heard of any of those registry cleaners....think i'll just stick with ASC3

I actually used Registry First Aid (by Rose City Software) from 2000 to 2007.

Someone reviewing a similar cleaner recently was almost saying the same words I would use to describe Reg1stAid or RFA, which makes many of its competitors look tame in comparison by going way overboard in unearthing and laying on the butcher block numerous files and registry settings -- something that other registry cleaners would not dare.

It demands truly a lot of dedicated attention; the developer admonishes you to "browse thoroughly" practically every line item that shows up in the crammed, verbose scan results (in spite of "Safety Levels" view that was added) before affecting any changes.

Even after using it that long, I found this software still unwieldy and deploying it prone to accidents which can easily prove disastrous.

A far cry from those days, now modern, safer, lighter, more precise and reliable, less intimidating registry crap cleaners, are being bundled or outright handed out by reputable distributors of security software.

When it comes to anything that alter or modify my registry to maintain it, I'd keep myself a good distance from any antiquated models which could add more confusion than solution.
