    A Collection of iolo freebies/promotions

    A Collection of iolo Freebies/Promotions

I know this has been posted several times in this forum. In fact, iolo promotions have been widely spread on the internet, especially on tech blogs (including Raymond.cc). iolo promotions have been on the internet for some time now. I wonder why they are still not 'closing' these promotions. Nevertheless, it is our gain so better not complain.

I decided to create this post in order to "summarise" all the iolo freebies in one place so that we can 'grab' them easily.

iolo Antivirus VNU Promotion, Free One Year License for 3 PC:

    Download from here:
    http://download.iolo.net/av/1/trial/ioloAntiVirus.exe

iolo Search and Recover 5 VNU Promotion, Free One Year License for 3 PC:

iolo DriveScrubber 3 ComputerActive Promotion, Free One Year License for 3 PC:
    http://www.iolo.com/landing/?pid=78EB4EE2-B4D3-46F3-8F19-4C632DE602A0

    Download from here:
    http://sr.iolo.com/

iolo System Mechanic 6 Standard VNU Promotion, Free License

    http://www.iolo.com/ads/vnu/sm6promo.aspx

    Download from here:
    http://sm.iolo.com/oldversion/6/SystemMechanic6.exe

Note: Many users will find difficulties in getting to the promo page. If that is the case, you can try disabling any ad-blocker, pop-up-blocker, firewall. Personally, i have tried doing all these but to no avail. Be prepared to be disappointed.

iolo System Mechanic 8 Standard ComputerActive Promotion, Free License for 6 months
    http://iolo.com/ads/computeractive/200806/smpromo.aspx

    Download from here:
    http://download.iolo.net/sm/8/trial/SystemMechanic.exe

P.S. To be honest, i don't use iolo products. There are many other freeware alternatives that do a better job.

But don't you have to purchase System Mechanic for a year to get the extra 6 months

No because the real promo page will not ask you to purchase System Mechanic. It gives you System Mechanic for free. What you are looking at is a re-directed page instead. Look at the address bar.

    Are you seeing this:http://www.iolo.com/promo/cmount/index.htm ?

If yes, then you are indeed re-directed. That's the problem. Most of us are not able to 'access' the real promo pages. Like I said earlier, you can try disabling any ad-blocker, pop-up-blocker, firewall. Personally, i have tried doing all these but to no avail.

My suggestion: Skip System Mechanic...it's not worth the effort. As for the other iolo freebies, most of us will not face any problem

    Post Thanks safeguy

You're right,it's the System Mechanic links that redirect.Damn shame,as IMHO this and JV Power Tools stand head and shoulders above all others in this category-and believe me,I've used them all!!

Try Tune-up Utilities 2007 or 2008. Both can be found for free and are very good.

If the above is no longer good try the below link for the 2007 version-

    Angry Warning....Don't use iolo software!

I purchased System mechanic 7 pro a while ago for only £10 and they gave me a free upgrade to version 8 when that came out. Sadly, the free upgrade and very low price were the only good thing. Not long after i installed this software i began to get problems, including corruption and i had to reinstall the whole system from scratch.
I didn't realise that it was the system mechanic that caused the problem and used the system mechanic again and once again had problems with the pc and had to go back to the start.
To cut a long story short, iolo sent me an email, addressed to all customers, out of the blue, to apologise for the problems that their software has given to users/subscribers. Because of them making a mess of their software, they made a mess of all of their subscribers pcs. Many people were calling Iolo and sending emails to complain about the software and the damage it was causing to their pcs and to stop the calls and emails they sent out an email to appologise for any problems that may have been caused by their software and that they are doing their best to find and fix the problem.
I instantly freaked out at them and asked for a refund, but they said to get it back from my credit card company. I never got my money back. My licence is still active, but the software will never be on my pc again.
