This is highly recommended, grab it while u can.

It's the latest alright, as for update you can grab another promo (or a special edition) later. No PE included indeed but nevertheless you can dual-boot from DOS/Linux CD or USB in case of disaster - this is enouhgt for 99% of time. If you really need the PE disk try to ask the PE plugin (to build your BartPE CD or similar) to support, AFAIK they are giving it away for free. My own benchmarks (startup, backup, restore) show no real advantage of PE CD over Linux, believe it or not.
