There was some discussion a short while ago that Iobit had split Iobit Security into a paid and a free version. In the latter version features as automatic updates, scan schedule and dog detection had been disabled. This morning I read a post from a Iobit guy (on Wilders Forum) who said that due to heavy criticism dog guard detection would be reintroduced in the free version. I have not checked yet, but it might be there again.

BTW should this post not be under Latest Releases?

I just downloaded this morning again since I uninstalled it yesterday evening since I noticed a problem. I had an update quickly after instal but didnt noticed if it was the Beta or the new release, Thanks again I will download a cleaner version.

When wondering about IObit products,why not just go to IObit Forum?

It was ready some days ago.
I didn't gave the download link for many reasons.
First: I Tested IOBit Security 360 since 3.0 beta and it brings to many false positive detection
Second: they started to sell IOBit Security 360 PRO still in BETA STAGE (release candidate indeed): this is not a good way to start
Third: they are using my Italian translation, but I was NEVER awarded with IOBit Security Suite 360 pro and Advanced System Care 3.0 PRO as they promised (I only got a non valid license for IS 360 via p.m from one of their moderators, a very polite and kind person I have to admit: but he doesn't work for IOBit)

It is not really effective against Rogue as it claims and is still buggy.


More: it will conflict with Avira antivirus and Avira security suite. The built in HiJackScan is only a copy of "HijackThis" and "Passive defense" is only a copy of JavaCool SpywareBlaster

As a result I removed this software from all my computers and I no longer shall reccomend it

I wrote a letter to iobit back 2 years ago when Advanced system care had less option than the one version 3 of those days and I suggested adding HijackThis option in it, but guess I was surprised to find lateron this option. I knew from that time that they were preparing a new ASC and a security tool. Well it will take time to maturation but for now is a handy utility iobiy 360 to have arround in case a second opinion is necessary. I understand that many people were involved in reporting failures and problems with iobit 360 but was not aware that they already awarded the 10 licences of iobit 360; and certainly other beta users deserves one.

Some translators got their license directly from IoBit Company, via e-mail I mean, and some weeks ago.
So if they need costumer support they can have it.
But I susbcribed their forum not to beg licenses, I simply like helping people with computer problems and I like to translate software when possible.

More: They used the wrong italian translation file I made, they used my 7th revision not the 8th revision which is the right one

I would say other things about IOBit policy, but since I'm respectful I won't add anything now.

However I'm only waiting for suspectfile.com and some Microsoft MVP Security Experts responses

P.S Advanced System Care free comes with yahoo tolbar prechecked and "Software informer" built in, be aware of "software informer" if you do not want the entire world will be albe to know what software you use and the most of your private and sensitive data

If translating their program into another language isn't helpful I don't know what is I bought their AWC it was called then from a reseller of theirs and the license wasn't any good!!!!They did fix that problem for me though.

Its true about software informer since the infos goes directly on their web page and an account is necessary, not very private I believe so.

The one singularly nasty thing that comes with Iobit 360 1.0 Free is that while it still "automatically" updates definitions at program startup as in the RC, it mysteriously keeps offering to download exactly the same such "update" every time.

Does it even load new definitions at all to make it useful -- unless you'd opt to install the paid version?

This has truly become so intrusive and annoying, not to mention what seems to be some leg-pulling tactics.

It's the worst thing I've ever encountered with any known security software, unless Iobit Security 360 has turned into a rogue application.

Well, it could be an Avira AntiVir incompatibility ... but that's something which could have been dealt with well before Security 360 1.0 was released.
