    For maximum protection customize your install and uncheck Firewall, replacing it with Comodo, Outpost or OnlineArmor (in a separate install, just the firewall sec).

    Three months is too short. I want 6 months.

    Sign up with a second email doesn't make u have 6 months license.
    As Avira license counts right immediately after you sign up...so even 10 email will be the same thing....3 months license.

    @lunaticcranck

    There are quite a number of Avira 'old' promos that still work till today. Just Google for them...you will find some links.

    @hellnoire

    Yeah Schlange is right...no point signing up using second email unless you have another PC. Personally, I don't grab Avira Pro/Premium freebies as it's usually 3 months (quite a short time)...I just use the free version and couple it up with other security software. I find making my own combo is better than using the Pro version for 3 months only. Granted, Avira promos last for some time and I can get another key once the previous key expired but I find it all not worth the hassle. Just my two cents lol.

    Of course they are a hassle, but not nearly as much the Kaspersky promo's from China. Uninstall and install go very smoothly. All in all it takes some 15 minutes.
    The alternative is Avira Free with a good free firewall, but then you have no real-time anti-spyware and web-/mailguard. So, what would be the best free combo?

    Considering all of the orphans they leave behind, 30-120 day licenses are not worth the hassle. If you have to go into your start-ups/registry constantly to clean up short term installs, you are wasting your time and PC resources. If it is not a year, I wouldn't bother with it.
