    Sumatra PDF 1.0

Finally in full version and FREE!

Sumatra PDF is a slim, free, open-source PDF viewer for Windows.

Why another PDF reader? Sumatra has a minimalistic design. Simplicity has a higher priority than a lot of features.

It's small and starts up very fast.

It's designed for portable use: it's just one file with no external dependencies so you can easily run it from external USB drive.

    Now available:

Personally, I really like SumatraPDF for all it's described and designed by Krzysztof Kowalczyk.

Please note that while the developer doesn't say whether this has been tested on Windows 7, MajorGeeks state it is:

    Thanks.
I prefer appz that do only that what they should do. I don't need any useless futures.

As a matter of fact, I used Foxit Reader for quite sometime. I got piqued when it started looking more and more like adware hawking additional features you have to pay for.

That's how I moved on to earlier, beta versions of Sumatra working effortlessly out of a USB dangler.

I started out using Adobe Reader...got tired of how slow it is and all those 'security holes' found...tried Foxit Reader and was happy with it for some time. Loads pretty fast and fulfills my needs. But then it started to play 'wanky' with me and crashing my firefox whenever I chose to open up a pdf file through Firefox. Uninstalled and went for Pdf X-Change Viewer and am very satisfied with it so far.

In fact, although I don't use the feature, it's nice to know that PDF X-change Viewer allows PDF annotation without leaving any validation marks unlike Foxit Reader (which requires you to buy the Pro version)...

As for Sumatra PDF Reader...it's damn darn fast but my only complain is that it doesn't have a plug-in for Firefox. I use it sometimes as a portable pdf reader though.

If you want more info about PDF readers, I suggest you read this:

Yep, pdf-xchange is great. I am the one who actually recommended it to Gizmo for his techsupportalert site a while back.

I use Sumatra for my PDF reading on the jump drive, but for my personal laptop and PC, I use either Adobe Lite or STDU viewer. Both feel pretty light to me and work well enough for me.
