Working just fine here, Windows 7, 32 bit... registered fine, no problems, running on my laptop right now...

Very strange....

I have found that most apps that run on Vista will also run on Windows 7.

I did run the original setup in 'Run as Administrator' mode...

There is no need to do all that trickery to recover the installer from the GAOTD wrapper.

Simple. On the registration page there is a link that says "Download the products now" under the image on the left.

Will it install on a newly formatted system in the future?

Yes. The wrapper connects to the GAOTD website only to get the decryption key, which is available only for one day. Everything required to install the app is contained in setup.exe. So if you do the trick and save the original installer, and also save the registration keys and/or the corresponding registry entries, you can install it later anytime.
