Asquared (now called Emsisoft) was initially an anti-malware guard, so there was no problem to run it in conjunction with KAV. Nowadays, the distinction between Anti-Malware and Anti-Virus programs has faded. However, IMO you can still install Emsisoft alongside KIS. It is overkill of course, but it can be done without problems. I know that for sure, since I am running Emsisoft and KIS myself on one machine (together with AO) andf I did not notice any slowdown. The only precaution I take is to exit KIS when doing a full scan with Emsisoft, and vice-versa.

Regarding current Emsisoft Antimalware promo, does anyone know 1) the time limit between receiving the activation e-mail and having to verifying the account before it is de-activated as mentioned and 2) once the account is activated what is the time limit to convert the code - is it 30 days after the trial period? Any replies appreciated, thanks.

@ Ramair: as far as I know you can convert the coupon code you recieved via e-mail into a 1 year free at anytime.
