Abbye makes excellent software. Very reliable stuff. The only inconveninece I once noticed was a tendecy to add itself to the startmenu, for which there is no need, but this could easily be changed. The great advantage of Abbye over Wondershare OCR software is its massive support for many languages, while Wondershare just reads English (and perhaps one or two other languages).


ABBYY Screenshot Reader Activation

Your copy of ABBYY Screenshot Reader may require activation. Before you have activated ABBYY Screenshot Reader, the program will run in restricted mode.
To activate ABBYY Screenshot Reader:
Run the ABBYY Screenshot Reader Wizard (Activation link in the program dialogs) on the computer on which you are going to use the program;
Select the "on the website" activation method and click "Next";
The Activation Wizard will display the serial number and Installation ID of your program;
Enter these numbers into their corresponding fields;
In reply, you will receive an Activation Code which you must enter in the corresponding field of the Activation Wizard.
Now the program will run in fully-function mode.

Thank you very much Kees for the detailed info.

I did the "via email" registration since I installed this in Sandboxie. Since I don't have an IMAP email client installed, it offered me the option of manually e-mailing the activation service. Saw a serial number, but didn't notice an Installation ID (which I expected).

Is this what it should look like?

I did notice an option during install to "run at Windows startup."

FYI, Avira IS 2012 just objected to "ScreenshotReader.exe" and "NetworkLicenseServer.exe" as "Suspicious process" Had to tell it to ignore.
Wonder why it took an hour to object?
