    What are these red lines?

I got this problem from many days. but didnot care about it. But now, i feel to solve it.

There are these red lines comming on my screen.

The interesting part is that i have installed the latest drivers for the graphics driver, reformatted my computer, cleaned the registry like more than 100 times, and still these lines keep coming.

Any help or comments would be appreciated.

It looks like graphics problem. Are you able to play video files properly? Lower the hardware acceleration a little and see if it works.

If you've even reformatted your PC and the problem is still there, then it must be a hardware error.

BTW, does this problem occur in Safe Mode as well?

Is it an external graphics card? If yes, take it out and then plug it back in to your PC (reseat). It is also possible that this is coming from your monitor.

I have an internal one. And maybe it is not the problem of the monitor, because this problem doesn't come in every window. just some particular like the copying, and sometimes in the paint, as in the screenshot.

And forgot to tell something. This problem starts from the starting of the computer. like when i switch the box on, there are strange red and blue lines on the manufaturer logo. Then when the xp starting screen appears, there are these lines appearing all over the screen. And as soon as windows logs on, these lines dissappear.

It looks very dirty and awful.

Run dxdiag and run the tests for DirectDraw and Direct 3D. If there are problems then disable these settings.

I tried in safe mode and this problem doesn't persist in safe mode.

Tried that, and the first and the second test was ok. but the third one, in which, it shows the fullscreen with the box, there are red and black lines inside the box.

And the the same with the dx testing. now what do i do?

I think you have a slight problem with your graphics card or the driver. Disable both the acceleration and see if it makes any difference.

And also lower the hardware acceleration. The setting is available in the control panel\display\settings\advanced\troubleshoot. Set the slider to none and see if it makes any difference.
