Need to burn at speed of 4x
I am currently downloading Windows XP SP3. I wish to burn it to CD but the uploader commented in the comment space says you need to burn at the speed of 4x and nothing higher. The file format is ISO. He/She put not to use Nero. Unfortunately, Nero is all I got. And I don't think Nero can burn at the speed of 4x. If can, can someone tell me how to set it to burn at 4x?
Also, I am looking for alternatives to Nero. I know Hellnoire recommends ImgBurn to burn the Image for Ubuntu. Perhaps ImgBurn can burn at the speed of 4x or it can't?
Thoughts are like a never ending ocean where it is deep, endless and dangerous

ImgBurn is good. CDBurner XP is worth a mention too. Btw, you can burn ISO files using Windows too.

You can manually adjust the speed. Check the link above. And it's not necessarily a specific number. I burned my XP installation disk at 8x and works fine.

So which would you recommend me?
How to know whether the XP cd worked or not?

Anyone. i use ImgBurn. But CD BurnerXP is installed. After burning, ImgBurn will test the cd to make sure it is burned without any errors.

ImgBurn runs fine and actually does better then most, even if you burn at max speed. But yes, it does burn at 4X if you ask it to.

ImgBurn lets you set the speed anywhere from 1x to over 50x if your device will handle it. It's a very good freebie.

Ok. But I see there have not been any release for updates since 22 July 2008. Does that means it have been abandoned?

No, it just means there is no updates.
Besides, I use some abandonware on my Linux box, Lunar. Just because it's abandoned doesn't mean it can't do the job.
Look up on Wikipedia a program by the name of XMMS. It's my media player of choice, and believe me when I say, yes, it's nearly abandoned. It's from 2007, the last update, but yet it still plays all the audio I want it to no problem. Or Shell Less Explorer Lite, which is no longer being updated, even though Shell Less is. It was a freeware version of their program. Or heck, one of my favourite games in Linux: Abuse. It hasn't been updated since 1995!
