Running a system command on this item...

So I've just finished setting up Samba to work perfectly with my laptop and any other Windows computer in my house, very easy stuff that I'll be going back and recovering in detail down in the tutorial's forum.

However, only Windows Vista has an issue, complaining that when I try to click a file to open or to save down to the Linux box, it says, and I quote:
    Code:
Running a system command on this item might be unsafe. Do you wish to continue?
To which, of course, I hit yes. But is there any possible way to kill this thing off? I'm streaming music from my Linux box to the laptop, so I know there are no viruses. It also has complete read permissions (I turned off write but even with write on, it still prompts) under Linux.

So it's something on Vista's side.

    Thanks for the help.

    Try this.

    1. Start the Internet Explorer
    2. Go to View / Internet Options
    3. Click on the Security tab
    4. Select Custom
    5. Look for "Launching applications and unsafe files"
    6. Check Enable

If that doesn't work try enabling "Launching programs and files in an IFRAME".

This error is caused by Internet Explorer settings (again, see how important IE is?). So you should play around the settings there. Make sure you set it back to Prompt when you done.

Went there, and under IE7, it's under Options, but otherwise has the same idea. But when I go back, using either Explorer or Shell Less, I'm still prompted, even though I told it to Enable.

The only thing I could think of now is possibly the fact that this is a 'security feature' hardwired into Vista. Thanks for the help though, Raymond.
