A Way to check the info on recovery disks???
A friend who has the same laptop as i do having the same issues was also instructed by HP Tech, to burn recovery disk and run a fresh clean install as opposed to f11.
Supposedly all his disk burned "successfully" as did mine according to windows. As it turns out he burned 2 recovery disks and 1 coaster. So he is battling with HP now??
So i am wondering since i (and i think we all have) burned coasters that we thought were good. Is there a way i can check the info on the recovery disks B4 i use them??
According to Hp i need to do this due to the fact that the HDD was degrading quickly and my user help files look like they were written in hyerogliphics. Acccording to HP Tech i may have had a virus attack them. Although i have reinstalled them from the recovery console. And scanned for viruses
But my real concern is getting half way into a recovery and not bieng able to finish.
Can a virus attack the recovery console? is it safe to scan that for viruses?

After burning the recovery disc, did the recovery software verify the disc? Usually it can do that to make sure that you have a copy of working recovery disc.
Other than that, there is no way to test it unless you run it on a computer.

Another question -
Is there any software that can compare and verify the contents of any CD/DVD with an ISO file present in HDD ?
Just like the "verify after burning" process in Nero.
