    Best Security tool for vista

after trying a few antivirus softwares , i think avg is quite good in vista since it uses less resources....................the only problem with avg is with its firewall which blocks my internet access suddenly
    but my rating
    first-avg
    second-avira
    third-norton

My vote would be all free of course. Paid doesn't mean better

    Antivirus:
    Avast! Home Free Edition
    Or
    Avira AntiVir Personal

    Firewall:
Comodo (Uncheck during installation "Install Comodo SafeSurf..", Make Comodo my default search provider" and "Make Comodo Search my homepage" if you choose this one)
    Or
    Online Armor

Remember only install one of each.

Mine would be Linux Nothing beats that kind of security!

But in honestly, Comodo and Eset take my top spots. AVG is too bloated, doesn't detect enough, and used to be good before everyone passed it in lightyears. In other words, reminds me of Norton.

Kaspersky's really good but it seems to slow my internet down, so right now, I'm using Eset.

In my case AVG was too heavy on system resources, and I always used to get windows vista notifications that AVG delays some processes, besides it takes ages to perform a full scan. So after trying 3 antivirus programs (AVG, Avira, Avast) Avast is №1 for me.

My combination would be: KIS, Webroot and Spybot. These are currently installed on my system

KIS would rank 1st and ESET 2nd, Others I don't try.

BTW if you search for AVG in this forum alone you will get many problem caused by installing AVG as it was unable to detect some of the worst viruses.

For keeping the system clean there are some prices to pay. I agree that KIS slows the PC but its OK. At least I a sure that my PC is safe.

It's either Kaspersky AntiVirus (Not Internet security) or ESET NOD32 Antivirus.
