Spybot search and Destory Changing HOSTS File

I was surprise to see My host file size grew from 1 KB to 299 KB. The main culprit was Spybot search and destroy.

Here is the list from my host file, You can see how many entries were added. I was lucky since I had installed Webroot Spy Sweper, It blocked all access to these site, otherwise I would be getting some heavy trojans and viruses.
BTW these were access network without my knowledge, Thanks Webroot.

    huh, I'm confused??

I use SpyBot to immunize my system, by having it modify my host file accordingly, to block access to malicious sites etc.

That's what SpyBot does, to protect you... If you don't want protection, then don't use it.

Those list that SpyBot added to your host are meant to protect you from accessing those sites. You get that when you immunize your computer.

I use Spybot for the Immunize feature alone, nothing else. It's very worth while.

299 KB is pretty small considering the amount of protection that is added. Immunize should be done with every Spybot update to help protect IE and FF browsers.

Requesting access or requesting access to the Hosts file to allow the change?
