Need Free Partition Manager
Can anybody recommend one that they've actually used? Must work with XP. Got in a hurry and didn't notice I'd only left myself @ 5 Gigs after the reinstall.Color me stupid! Just want something to move one partition-no burn to disk junk-simple straight forward.

Easeus Partition Master 3.5
or
Paragon Hard Disk Manager 8.5 SE
I personally recommend Paragon.

Paragon Hard Disk Manager 9 SE. I was using 8.5 before that. Now updated to 9. I use 8.5 10 times to remove the linux partition.

Hi
GParted is a free partition editor available as a desktop program and also as a Live-CD. It supports the following filesystems: ext2, ext3, fat16, fat32, hfs, hfs+, jfs, linux-swap, reiserfs, reiser4, ufs, xfs, and even ntfs (Windows).
GParted is a powerful application that you can use to change the partition organization therein, while preserving the partition contents. It allows you to resize, move, create and format your partition to various file formats.

Have you tried Parted Image?
I find it simple and painless myself. Gparted I find painful, but Parted Image is very easy, fast, and safe.

I also prefer live CD since you can get full access, I prefer Hiren for all my PC troubles, and my fav is Acronis. It's great!.
Windows 98 Cd will be the best option if you wanna install new OS (Windows) on some bad sector HDD, Windows 98 does the work.
