    Back Speaker Port isnt working

    Heya

On my sister's Packard Bell PC, here back speaker port doesnt seem to be functional. Device Manager says that it's working perfectly but when I plug any speaker in, it doesnt play any sound..

The front port works but the back doesnt..

She wants to use the backport for her speakers because she doesnt like the wire coming from the back to the front.. if you know what I mean..

    Thanks

You set yourself up there well Mark. Too bad I'm not taking it.

Did you try the old remove/refresh trick in the Device Manager?

Normally the back speaker port is welded to the motherboard and the front is connected via a cable. If the front speaker port works, the back one should work as well.

Have you gave "all" the back ports a try and see if there's any sound?

How many 'back ports' does your sister have? Try them one-by-one until you hear a squeal!
