Loading personal settings, Logging off loop

    Hello,

I have the exact same problem as discussed in: http://www.raymond.cc/blog/archives/2008/07/02/how-to-edit-windows-registry-key-values-without-booting-in-windows/

My computer will not load past the welcome screen, and when attempting to log on to windows, it automatically logs me off.

I have followed all of the steps in link, but when I access Microsoft > Windows NT > CurrentVersion > Winlogon, Userinit.exe is already there. There is nothing to edit because all of the values are correct. Although the "C:\Windows\System32\Userinit.exe," is typed correctly, when I restart my computer, the same problem occurs. I have tried both solutions given with UBCD4Win and PC Regedit.

Could someone please guide me in the right direction to help me solve this problem.

    Thank you.

This can actually be caused by a virus called Brontok.
I'd suggest you to burn a copy of Kaspersky Rescue CD using a computer that is working and scan the computer that you're unable to login for viruses.

Thanks for the suggestion. I scanned my computer for viruses with Kaspersky, but it did not find the Brontok virus. After Kaspersky finished scanning, I restarted the computer and the same welcome screen popped up that would not let me log on. Are there any other causes for this to happen?

I'm not too sure how to check that, but I should have a good amount of disk space because the computer is fairly new.
