NO...It is a RC (Release Candidate...TRIAL version). Yours to try until they pull the plug..Read the multitude of posts on the subject. They (M$) are hoping you like it, and upgrade to it once the 'free' trial expires. It is certainly an upgrade to both Vista AND XP. It addresses hardware improvements that neither Intel, nor AMD are yet to implement. It is the OS of the next generation of hardware...AND the next several upgrades of hardware...M$ finally got it right....This generation (Vista) the past generation (XP), and future generations.............it supports more CPUs, and more RAM than you or I can afford (today). Intel's next generation of chips (I-5) cannot touch what is built into the core kernel!
