    Slow net speed.....

My system running on Vista seems to consume a lot of bandwidth while connected to internet(sumtimes 400MB in 15 minutes) and gives an extremely slow browsing experience. But the download speeds are much better. Is there any fix for that????

Check if maybe your computer is downloading some updates. Or you can use Netlimiter to see which programs are consuming most of your bandwidth.

Vista's built in "Disk Cleanup" is a totally safe way to do basic house cleaning. If Windows knows that its temp files are unneeded, they truly are! I recently cleared over 4 Gigs from my system, although most of that was my 'hibernate' file. Windows will create an empty file equal to your available RAM in order to store your RAM if you go into hibernation mode. If you seldom/never 'hibernate', and need disk space, flush that space. It won't speed up internet speed, but it won't hurt either.

Are you behind a router? If yes, then you've not congifured your hardware properly. Good download speed and bad browsing speed is usually pointing to faulty settings. I had such a problem once, disabled the hardware firewall and lo everything was fine again...
