Playvix player -Need Help

Hi,
I downloaded a movie in .avi format. (But encoded with play vix codec ) and it asks me to purchase the playvix player for 5$ and when i searched i found it to be a scam......
And i am unable to play it with windows media player,vlc and divx also....

Is There any way to decode it and play with vlc media player

There isn't much info floating around on Google about this particular codec. Where did you download it from and what's the filename?

Perhaps you can find another link and redownload the avi again?
