If you make it open source, SourceForge would give you all kinds of hosting and whatnot, and from what I understand, for free too.

Just informing you. Especially seeing as I can't pay for software myself, not for a long while.

If I do decide to sell for a small amount i wont forget the help on raymond.cc ,without you and this forum this project would never had happened , So i would give away ether licences or full version to raymond members or just stars , raymond could also give it away in his prize feature.
nothing is set in stone yet

Don't know if it's been suggested before, but I was thinking a function to re-enable all Microsoft services to default settings would be useful. Either that or perhaps notifying the user a service is not at it's default setting (Auto / Manual / Disabled etc.).

That is a good idea since some people would refer to online manuals to disable services hoping that their computer would be faster but ended up some features not working.

very good idea indeed, I had a similar idea with windows defender as I recently discovered a Win API for windows defender.
I'll try to implement that, I'm currently playing with custom controls for checkbox's then I'll make a start.

Edit: I Will implement it! ,Done a bit of research and i have all the registry keys associated with the services to set to default, I will implement for 7-Vista & Xp

No, no. I wasn't at all asking for you to run it with no Windows. It needs some OS, no matter what app it is.
I'm talking about running it from a booted CD or DVD with a Windows installation on it, like UBCD4Win, or even MSDaRT tools, though that has a reduced API and I don't know if it will run C++. I do know that it runs many other programs that I can start as standalones from the hard drive or USB stick.
The problem of missing registry hives involves choosing a restore point and then drilling down to the snapshots that have backups of the registry. They have names like REGISTRY_MACHINE_SOFTWARExxxxx. They can be renamed to just the hive name, like "software" and then copied to the config folder to replace damaged hives.
It still might be complicated in that there would have to be a way of choosing which snapshot to use, but for people who couldn't start because of a damaged registry, this is the next best thing to System Restore. Of course, with 7, you'd need to use shadow copies of the hives since they are not in snapshots as in XP.
