Device Mananger Error 37 Intel GMA 915/910
Hello,
First, the tabs of my display properties where missing i got them back running regsvr32 themeui.dll
regsvr32 browseui.dll
regsvr32 /i shell32.dll
in Start / Run, however i still get the error 37 in the device manager it detects the device twice the diference between them is the PCI bus 0, device 2, function 1, and the other is function 0,
Here is what i tried In order of desperation,
Uninstall the device, and then look for hardware changes, same on safe mode, same result 2 devices with error 37
Download drivers from Dell.com with service tag number
Download drivers from Intel.com with video chipset model
Sfc / scannow - it still asks me for the disk after copy the i386 folder + registry tweak to c:\i386\ i think that it's because i'm using an slipstream version of windows. its mention that need to copy files to dll cache folder "Files that are required for windows to run properly must be copied to the DLL cache"
Look if the video device is listed within the upper lower filter reg keys thing (it worth the shot isn't?)
Use regshot to generate a shot with the registry keys moded by the installation (in a parallel windows installation of course) taking snapshot of clean win and win with video drivers an compare then added the keys by batch reg add & delete.
Change the sam, security, default, (registry hives) etc. to the ones in the //repair folder also do the trick but again i have to reinstall everything again if i keep them.
some background,
Dell inspiron 2200 celeron m (Dothan)1.4 1.2gb ram, sp3.
Recently i got around and catch a virus, i have bit defender av, so the heuristics stop it, at least they claim it, but it was able to implant a rootkit , that i have to delete using ERD, to access "?//system" non orinary UNC location, then this happened, i also run mbam to make sure, on the cloud analysis with hitman, and a good looking process explorer wiew. If you want the virus jut go to wincrack.com, type anything and download IT WOULD BE A VIRUS (i'm telling you), and mcafee proves itself useless, again ,reporting it as virus free, http://www.siteadvisor.com/sites/wincrack.com/summary/
I did have, and still have system restore set to off. - i regret just a little now.
Ideas? Thanks in advance,
