Download Safari portable
I assume most of us know about portable browsers such as Firefox Portable, OperaUSB, etc. But how many of us know where to get Safari (for Windows) portable??? If you were to do a Google search for Safari portable, you would most probably get links to torrents/warez and rapidshare sites. But are they reliable?
Today, I wanna share with you guys a reliable site where you can download a 'thinstalled' portable version of Safari browser:
http://www.thindownload.com/app-download/47/Safari-Browser
For those of you who don't know what thinstall is,
VMware ThinApp (formerly Thinstall) is an application virtualization suite by VMware that can package conventional applications so that they become portable applications.
Quoted from: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thinstall
Note however that the 'thinstalled' Safari found on thindownload.com is an old version, V3.1.2 whereas the current/latest version is V4.0.2.
For those of you who are interested in getting the latest version (V4.0.2) 'thinstalled', you can download it from here:
http://baltagy.blogspot.com/2009/07/apple-safari-v402.html
This blog isn't mine but I think it is rather 'trustworthy'. You can check WOT comments/rating here:
http://www.mywot.com/en/scorecard/baltagy.blogspot.com/
The blog provides this link(mirrors) for you to download the program:
http://www.mirrorcreator.com/files/AWPRRN8O/Apple_Safari_v4.0.2.rar_mirrors
The link above lists a number of download links/mirrors (host sites) for you to choose and download from. I personally recommend that you download it from here:
http://www.mediafire.com/?2dn4iyy0bnx
I have downloaded this program from the Mediafire link above and tested it with Avira antivirus scanner and no infection was detected. If you are in doubts, you can always check the file using VirusTotal.
Note that you can also 'thinstall' Safari on your own but I find the process rather 'tedious'...you can always approach Google for more info.
P.S. I can't guarantee the legality aspects of using this. I have read somewhere that the copyright terms does not allow users making Safari portable and distribute it but again I can't confirm this. If the moderators here think that this post is against the rules of this forum, please gladly remove the post. I have no intention in going against the forum rules.
