Time for my opinion
...
Personally I agree with Polkadot's stand that the issuing of certificates is
in
NO WAY diminishes the the security of Comodo.
I think we can 'still' use Comodo products for now...I doubt it has hidden anything sinister inside their products (unless you count the toolbars lol and that is a whole story altogether)
The BIG problem is most of us disagree with Comodo's action of issuing certificates to malware writers
...yes, the certificate doesn't 'assure safety' but in the eyes of the consumer...a known security software such as Comodo should have been more 'çareful'
not to 'associate' themselves with malware writers in such a way..it's a matter of trust and reliability.
Thus, sadly to say I have to disagree with Polkadot's stand of
I will stick by Comodo, and continue to use it UNTIL they do something WRONG. From the posts given, i see no wrong, just a bunch of (wannabe)geeks that don't like them.
Comodo has already done something WRONG and instead of trying to justify themselves, they should 'rectify' their mistake...and nope, it isn't a bunch of (wannabe)geeks that don't like them (I am pretty sure most of us like Comodo...)...it is a bunch of (wannabe)geeks that don't like their ''association'' with malware writers..
To summarise it up, this is what I feel...
Let us not abandon Comodo...why punish them for a mistake that they have done while forgetting their ''goodness''...give them a second chance...BUT if they continue with their disgraceful actions...then go ahead, it's time for a change.
P.S. The question is still not yet answered...can we still trust Comodo? Or rather are they worth giving a second chance?
P.S. What do you think Raymond???
They call me the mysterious one...

You should try the current version and see how little resource it takes.
It should be 3 years ago.

@evilfantasy: I like my Comodo firewall, as do most users. I also dislike 'what they are doing', which is getting into the certification issuance business. They make one of the better firewalls available, either free, or for a cost. Their 'full suite' is not at a par with others, but Defense+ does a good job of advising users when a program wants to mess with registry entries, and other potentially dangerous activities. IMHO, they, nor any other security program producer/distributor should NEVER get into the certification end of the PC spectrum...certifiers have absolutely NO control over the sites that they are certifying. It was a stupid move on their part, but has ZERO effect on the validity of their programs.
