Which IM client should I use???

Ok guys...I have never used any other IM client before apart from Windows Live Messenger ...recently, I had to update it to the latest version, Windows Live Messenger 2009 14.0.8089.726, BUT had faced problems with the installation. It has already successfully been installed on my PC but am now facing problems sending messages...

I have given up and am looking forward to using other IM clients...I have tried Trilian about a year ago but was not pleased with it ...However, during a small chat with stuge, he told me that Trilian has a new version called Trilian Astra. It does look good but I can't decide which IM client to use since there are too many...

Should I go with Digsby, Trilian Astra, Miranda or Pidgin???

Despite reading all these articles, I still can't make up my mind...urrrgh, it's so frustrating lol Too many choices is making me confused. What do you say guys??? Which one's your favourite? Which one do you recommend?

Digsby has a lot of built in ad-ware that you've got to watch for when installing. Personally, I use Pidgin because it's portable and works well.

Pidgin would be great for you as it's simple clean UI and does not eat up lots of memory.

Trillian Astra 4.0, if you want a hell lot of features, great interface and customizability.

Pidgin, if you want a simple IM minus the advanced features.
