Finland! Not only they have great universal health care—including dental—great public daycare, and great public education at all levels, but now they also got broadband as a legal right provided to every citizen. And not any crappy broadband. - GIZMODO
5.3 million citizens. That's on the edge population extinction? Providing such service is indeed easy!

If they did this in australia it would be providing to 20 million, if in the US to over 300million, if in india, over 1 billiion! or something like that. So yes it would be easy!

if they do that here they would have to give net connection to about 60 million people. technology isn't something our government really focuses on following a broadband scandal. although the automation of the elections promises a good start.

    Sure it is brayden...
Just imagine indian government giving broadband access to all its people... No way it can happen...

Moreover the ratio of internet users in india is lower when compared with its entire population...

So if you provide free access to those who need it, then india = Us...

I was saying kavinraja that it would be easier for finland to do it as other countries have much higher population, and finland already had 95% of people with internet access they said anyways?

Never forget that Finland is home to many innovations in the computer world... WOT is home based there. MSQL's developer/founder (Michael Widenius) is a "Finn". Michael has recently joined the WOT team, as a financial supporter, and with coding assistance to make it the best system to us 'common' users that want protection without paying $39.95 per year. Widenius is a hard core Open Source fanatic. Oh, yeah, there is another "Finn" that I can think of...Linus Torvalds...creator of Linux!!!

    EDIT:
Think of it: Linux, MySQL, and WOT all came out of that 'little, unknown' country in Europe. Don't knock it (or them).
Their contributions are HUGE...(if you use Firefox, your passwords are in SQL files!!!)
