sharing b/w ram & graphic card
i have 4gb ram installed in my pc but 1gb is shared with my graphic card, so it displays only 3gb as ram.
when i insert a 2gb ram only then no sharing occurs.
does sharing of ram with graphic card has any impact on cards performance, what kind of enhancement will my card get through this sharing?

From what i read, it will benefit some software like Photoshop etc....
By the way, games wouldn't get any advantages

I do not know you are using 32bit or 64bit operating system? 32bit OS only receives up to 3GB Ram.
You have 4GB Ram, I think you should use 64bit OS, at which your computer will show 4GB Ram

Shift to 64-bit OS just because you have 4 GB RAM? You might want to reconsider before doing that...
Not all apps are compatible with 64-bit OS...think about it. Compatibility or the use of an additional 1GB of RAM. What's your choice? For me - compatibility matters more. The only exception is if I had more than 4GB of RAM...

safeguy, i never had any issue with 64bit. also do note that 64bit requires a 64bit processor. you just can't "switch" and have it work
if he's on XP then you see about 3.2gb and no more. if he's on Vista SP1 or neweer or even windows 7 you can see the full amount but it'll stilll only be able to use 3.2gb of ram. perhaps he could refer to raymond's recent article on making Vista or 7 use 4gb of ram on 32bit?
