    No more VLC for Mac...or so it seems...

    Bad news for Mac users who love VLC:


    VLC dropping support for Mac OS after v1.1.0 cause the number of active developers dropped to ZERO!

    VLC for Mac Resting on Shaky Ground
    Mac development of VLC nearly dead


    Good news for Mac users who love VLC:

    VLC for Mac death is "greatly exaggerated" / What is Lunettes?

    VLC for Mac is being maintained. However the old Cocoa graphical interface of VLC, is not being maintained at this time.

    The reason is that we are in the process of rewriting a new interface for VLC. Its codename is Lunettes.

    Why a rewrite? This is something really easy to see. VLC for Mac is just not "Mac" enough.

    So far, we could name 3 reasons for that:

    P.S. I'm not a Mac user...I just came across this and wanted to share the news. Windows and Linux users need not worry...VLC is still alive for us
