here are a few to check out

this is only a handful of the available interesting sites... not complete by any means, but if you Google on portable apps it'll keep you busy for hours...

Liberkey - there has been a bit of controversy on this collection of apps - but the main beauty of this app is that it will automatic update all/or some (your choice) of the apps on your stick when Liberkey is run. That means that you always have the latest versions of CCleaner, etc - without downloading each application and updating separately. (the apps are free, but you have to register at the site to use the application) update: registration is not essential, but in order to use the auto-update you need to register (very simple, never spam)

Portable Apps - a great site for a menu, and a whole lot of open source/free apps for your thumb drive. Very knowledgeable and helpful people here. This site also had a tutorial on how to make your own portable apps.

The Portable Freeware Collection - a large assortment of apps, I think the site likely has lots of good info, but appears not as sleek as some of the others.

CodySafe - I haven't tried this one (yet) but it has a forum dedicated to the software, and looks interesting..

Gizmo has a page which lists apps by type, which is helpful.

If you have a U3 drive, go here

Download Squad has a list of a handy portable utilities as well

Lifehacker did a review on the best portable apps, but you will probably benefit most by visiting each site individually.

    Have fun!!

Nice list, Granny...I know all of them although I don't use all. But here's one more to add to the list:

    PenDriveApps

It isn't as widely known as some of the ones mentioned earlier but it's quite good actually...especially when there are some software where they 'teach' you how to make it portable...
They call me the mysterious one...
