Find out the reasons behind the HD LED blinking during system idle
During system idle or when you’re not doing anything on your computer some times you can see the HD LED constantly flashing and can also hear it reading the hard disk.
There are several programs such as antivirus/ antispyware, viruses, etc and process that work in the background of your computer would cause the hard drive light to blink.
To find out the exact reason, here is a handy utility called ‘What's my computer doing’ that lets you identify the culprits behind your hard-disk LED to blink or the CPU fan getting louder even when your system is idle.
This utility can be useful to find out and remove unwanted software or process running in the background of your system.
It also provides enough information about the process and links to verify authenticity of the running process easily (required internet connection).
