    Hi gigueres80

Nero lite/Essential is not really freeware since it is adware, it comes with a precheckd ask toolbar and even if you untick that adware toolbar, nero lite will mess up your system and your browser settings.

More: If you want to enjoy all the nero full features you have to pay

If I were you I would choose another reliable free CD/DVD burner like CD Burner XP

    http://www.cdburnerxp.se/

Or I would install some Ashampo Burning studio 2010 free thanks to some promotions

    Registration:

    Hey,

Sorry to hear about your Hard Drive crashing. Many freeware applications do many things that paid applications offer.
Here is another list of freeware cd burning/ripping applications:

Hope that helps a little bit, and stick around....all sorts of promotions make it to the forum.

    Good luck

Yeah! You need to pay for it if you need to use nero mate. I got nero from my friend who left using it. So i haven't got the problem of buying.

For you i would suggest you to use Ashampoo. Its one of the good alternatives to nero.

Imageburn is the best free alternative to Nero.
I think it is way better than Nero. Easy to use
I have burnt bootable disks using Imageburn.

    http://www.imgburn.com/index.php?act=download

Visit this link and download Imageburn. Enjoy :-)

Good suggestions above. If you are mainly interested in making audio cd's many audio players/ audio library type programs include good burners. I like the one from MediaMonkey. Jet Audio's is supposed to be pretty good although I have never used the burner. Same for MusicBee.
