Thumbs up Windows XP Mode will no longer require hardware virtualization technology to run.

    From Windows 7 Team Blog:

"We’re announcing an update to Windows XP Mode today that will make it a more accessible to PCs in small and midsize businesses who want to migrate to Windows 7 Professional but have applications that still require Windows XP. Windows XP Mode will no longer require hardware virtualization technology to run. This change makes it extremely easy for businesses to use Windows XP Mode to address any application incompatibility roadblocks they might have in migrating to Windows 7. Windows XP Mode will of course continue to use hardware virtualization technology such as Intel VT (Intel Virtualization Technology) or AMD-V if available. You can find more information and download the update which will go live later today HERE"

Do note: You'll be asked to run WAT.

I'm using it right now on My Windows 7 Ultimate Edition 32 bit.. and to be honest I prefer XP Mode within VMware Player 3.1

I have never tried VMLite (even if I was on the point to install it months ago), however VMware Player 3.1 is faster, more user friendly and easy to use with XP mode.
Microsoft Virtual PC with Xp Mode is slow but you can decide to discard or save all changes when shutting down XP mode while VMware Player cannot (It would be better to use VMware for Workstation which is able to save virtual HD snapshots.. but it costs 160 Euro/ 216,47 US dollars)

You can use VirtualBox with Windows XP Mode...with or without VMLite WorkStation plug-in....I'mn a rush to go off now but you may find articles on that at HowToGeek.com

P.S. I'm using VMLite plug-in as previously VirtualBox does not 'support' XP Mode..
