I have recently read that Firefox has overtaken IE in popularity .
Teachers mainly use IE since there is no Firefox installed on many school pc s.

    I would have to disagree.

According to MarketShare.HitsLink, it works out like this:

    Microsoft Internet Explorer 61.58%
    Mozilla Firefox 24.23%
    Google Chrome 5.61%
    Apple Safari 4.45%
    Opera 2.35%
    Netscape 0.75%
    Opera Mini 0.64%
    Mozilla Seamonkey 0.14%
    Flock 0.06%
    ACCESS NetFront 0.04%
    Playstation 0.04%
    Konqueror 0.03%
    Obigo 0.01%
    Danger Web Browser 0.01%
    Microsoft Pocket Internet Explorer 0.00%
    Blazer 0.00%
    WebTV 0.00%
    Lotus Notes 0.00%
    BlackBerry 0.00%
    iCab 0.00%

So IE holds the lion's share... but a good quarter of it is Firefox. And Chrome's not taking over for Firefox like everyone thought, but taking over from IE, same with Opera and Safari.

The odd thing is... I know someone who runs Netscape... my aunt. Refuses to update to Firefox too... which I find odd, but oh well.
