Is this legal ?
I have a Laptop Dell Latitude D600 with Windows XP Professional OEM.
I reinstall Windows XP Pro SP3 (format and install) with Dell System OS CD (download from internet).
After installed Windows, I checked CD Key with keyfinder program. Result, CD Key installed and CD Key on COA are different.
Is this legal ?
I do not know much about English. Sorry if I wrote the wrong words or grammar.

Once you've mentioned "download from internet" and "CD Key installed and CD Key on COA are different", no.
Here to prevail on your failures.

Hi kim
where did you download XP CD ?
If you downloaded it from DELL web site and it is the XP restore CD for your Dell Latitude D600 model it should be legal in despite of the different key shown (the problem is not yours it is a DELL's problem in such a case)
However, when you bought Dell Latitude D600 didn't it come with one or more restore CDs?

That's what i wonder. But Dell Latitude D600 does officially bag Windows XP pro SP3.
From Dell site i learned that they are providing XP pro SP1 and XP home SP1.
So probably its illegal.

Thank to all for answer !
I found some infomation from this site:
http://episteme.arstechnica.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/99609816/m/616001689731
I have COA stickers on my computer with the Product Key. I used DELL OEM Windows XP Professional with Service Pack 3 CD, It looks like this:
http://www.amazon.com/DELL-Windows-Professional-Service-reinstallation-recovery/dp/B0029SOTBC
Installation doesn't prompt me for a Product Key, but activates & passes WGA Validation.
Did I use Royalty OEM ? And Is my product key Dell Royalty Key ?

you are still to answer from where you downloaded the OEM CD/DVD ? If its from torrent sites, Then you can not be sure if its legal or not unless you tell us the exact source.
As you may know, the licenses vary from version to version. So even though SP! or Sp3 may not make a difference to you, It may make a difference for the license.

This product key installed (not Product Key on COA): -don't share a key please-
I used Google and find some result with this product key !
----------------
...changed product key and actived ! Now, it's legal !
