    Windows 2000 was released on Feb 2000 and Windows XP on October 2001.
    Windows 7 released on October 2009 and Windows 8 will release on .... 2011.

    Let's not get too excited over this guys.....trust me when I say MS changes their minds and plans often enough....one day, it'll be this and another day, it'll be a totally different thing.

    I probably wouldn't upgrade to it anyway. I stayed with XP until Win 7 came along, to allow MS to iron out the bugs in Vista. Learned that little lesson from the past, when I upgraded to Millenium, instead of staying with Win 98.

    @johnshaw

    There's some truth in that...but without Vista, there wouldn't be Win7. Windows 8 can either be an improvement to Win7 or something totally different. And in MS's case, making a sudden change can have an adverse effect - the dreaded customers fury and bashing. MS Windows users, generally speaking, do not like to be 'forced' into adapting to a new environment or change the way things are done...

    My girl was rather supportive of 7.... but keep in mind, she bashed and hated on Vista which she had before. So Safeguy has a point.
