yeah that could be true but I think its because its old that its all worn out, litterally everything about it is old or worn, battery life is a couple of minutes , graphics card is nvidia fx 5200 which is really old, screen backlight is damaged, hard drive is almost full , ram is 512mb which is crap compared to the 4gbs of today . I have had it 5 or 6 years and it was alright for 4 but after that I noticed it was wearing out slightly and now it is at this stage... btw I have taken the battery out of the laptop now and will turn it on from ac power to see what happens

oh ye , basically my laptop backlight is broke so i have always since last year used an external moniter . There are no LEDs apart from the power and ac ( if its plugged in) , where usually the hard drive light would be on aswell. Also, if i switch the wifi on the led for wifi is on ... could this be harddrive related? I dont know
