    what happened?

    how much RAM does windows show?

    Right click on My Computer and select Properties. The General tab shows the amount of memory

    @jcgo16: Do you have two memory slots? 3GB + 1GB?

    Id say your system is sharing ram probably for graphics

    Go into msconfig> Boot Tab> Advanced Options> Untick Box next to Maximum Memory> OK your way out. A Guy
