I just ran Error-checking for hard disk.
When the scan is done, I don't see the results of scan log? Not sure what happened?
Windows 7.

Hi Luffy i don't use windows seven at the moment but is there a logfile in event viewer...I was tripple booting but havn't given seven much consideration..

What is the name of checkdisk log file? I see error log, warning log. But no log about checkdisk.
For XP do following:
Immediately after running chkdsk->Go to Event Viewer-->Check in the Aplication log-->Lookout for Winlogon == that's the 'scandisk' log
For W7 do following:
Immediately after running chkdsk->Go to Event Viewer-->Check in the Aplication log-->Lookout for wininit== that's the 'scandisk' log
How to save:
In the right-hand panel of the event viewer you should see a panel of "Actions". You want "Save All Events As..." and then select .txt format in the file save dialog. If you only want to save some particular entries, use "Filter Current Log" and "Save Filtered Log File As...".

I'm the Beauty and you are the Beast.
I just look the Aplication log. I could not find the Winlogon or wininit.
Hi luffy i just reinstalled windows 7 and ran chkdsk ... looked in event viewer to check the event log and there is no refrence to it, although there where one or two application errors...nothing big..but in my case i didn't expect problems just the logfile...this is where i would go if i had any serious problems anyway.... exactly the way Grr posted...
What made you run chkdsk anyway ? i do now and again as it takes the best part of 50 min....
Hi luffy!!
chkdsk should inform you in real time about the errors it finds. I you were there during the process you might have seen where the errors were...
Screw Google! Ask me!
Hi Alboguy i have run two in the last week... problem is it's so dam fast it can be hard to read the errors....
Great to see how fast all you guys post to help out ... for all the files windows copies i would have thought i could have seen my chkdsk log on windows 7..
i only installed it to hopefully recreate some of the problems on the forum to see what i could come up with..
Oh, believe me grr. I could not find it anywhere. No Winlogon entry exists in my Event Viewer > APPLICATIONS log > Winlogon entry.
I have also checked System, Security. Nothing about Winlogon entry.
