usb ports out Need Help!!
I've got my usb ports to work again by using System Restore..Now my question is, Why would my usb ports go out?? When they did go out, Device Manager didn't have any question marks beside the usb port manager so I guess they all were working..Don't know..Never run into this problem before..Can anybody help me??
Thanks in Advance

Make sure your system is not infected. Perhaps it is blocking usb ports from working.
I don't need to know everything, I just need to know where to find it, when I need it.

Additionally, check the hardware manager to verify all is well with your ports (no yellow or red indicators !)
On Some motherboards, the USB hub is connected to the motherboard by a cable. Make sure the cable (if it's there) is not loose at either end.
Are you using USB equipment that may be drawing too much power from the HUB? If so, get an external powered hub and use that.
good luck

If after Restore its working means, you must have installing something that conflicted with the USB 2.0 drivers...
Reinstall USB 2.0 Drivers, that may be causing the problem..
Same happened to me had to install the USB 2.0 drivers...

Hi Walkingheart hope your still on the mend...when you used system restore it would have listed either the last update or software installed, and this would have told you where to look for your problem.. if it was a scheduled system restore point then you could look at event viewer either way it should be logged somewhere...

Thanks everybody for your well wishes and quick reply's..Of course here's my slow response, (-: (email settings wrong) and for the most I'm all Healed Up..Thanks..K, I've done a Kaspersky, 'everything in your computer' scan, and all is Good..Device Manager reads all is Good, anything I installed prior to the 'crash' I've UnInstalled with Revo all the software I had Installed (1)..I have ReInstalled my USB ports, and the only thing I Haven't done that's been suggested is, doing the System Restore thing and there I have a Question..Can I still go back into System Restore and see where the problem was, cause I Know what I last Installed and I don't Think it would of had a Virus so..Is there Any Way to go back and see what it was that Caused them to go out??..and Thanks again and in Advance for All your well wishes and replies..WH

Hi Walkingheart look at event viewer, and the problem should be logged there and also this free-ware tool may be of some help to you http://www.majorgeeks.com/Error_Mess...ows_d1405.html i haven't tried it myself, but you seem to want to know what caused the problem and if it's as tangomouse has mentioned and i think he is right, what caused the corrupt usb driver...so as to avoid future issues...well that's me anyway
Have a great day
