    Angry Boot Message

I downloaded "Paragon" backup software. After using I found that I didn't like it so I uninstalled with Revo uninstaller.
Ever since the uninstall I get the following message on boot, before system loads, "Press F6 to start Paragon System Backup on-disk Recovery Environment".
I emailed Paragon and got a reply stating that it is a master boot record error. They gave me no clue as to how to correct, and can't find an answer on google.
    Can you help?
    Sincerely,
    massezac

Did you try using your Windows 7 dvd and running the repair windows option?
There may be a bit of snow on the roof, but there is still a fire blazing in the hearth!

Hi massezac, Google has it. It is tricky to put your words for search.

First lets disable the backup capsule and remove the F6 recovery environment. To do that, go to Start > Programs > Paragon System Backup 2010 > Advanced > Manage Backup Capsule Wizard, disable and uninstall the backup capsule.

Second open layout.ini located in your System Backup 2010 folder with notepad:

    Change this section to:

    Archive directory name = "archdb.ptl"
    Archive directory location = "C:\[YourDirectories]\archdb"
    Archive directory disabled = off
Please refer to here if that does not remove your F6 message: http://www.wilderssecurity.com/showthread.php?t=268695
    (read from post #11)

If that does not help, the manual way is to update your MBR:
    Update MBR in WinXP:
    1. Restart your computer with the Windows XP Setup disk in the CDROM drive.
    2. Press the R key to start the Recovery Console.
    3. When Recovery Console starts, it will prompt you to enter a number corresponding to the Windows XP installation that you need to repair. In most cases, you'll enter "1" (which will be the only choice). If you press ENTER without typing a number, Recovery Console will quit and restart your computer.
    4. Enter your Administrator password. If you don't enter the correct password, you cannot continue.
    5. At the Recovery Console command prompt, type fixmbr and then verify that you want to proceed.

    Update MBR in Vista/Win7:
1 Insert Win 7 installation DVD and boot from DVD drive. (or Win7/Vista Repair CD)
2 Choose your default "Language", "Time", and "keyboard Input" on the first window and click next.
3 You're now presented with 3 choices. Click on "Repair Your Computer" to gain access to the System Recovery window. Now choose "Command Prompt"
    4 Now run "bootrec.exe /fixmbr"
